Evaluation of packaging

Today I found out many different things about packaging and how they are made in a certain way to give an effect or to catch a person’s eye.
Colours are used to tell a product apart if it is low fat or not low fat. I feel this is a great way cause people will be able to just look at the product and know if it is low fat or not, rather than having to read anything to find this out.
Also where the product is placed on the shelf will determine most of the time whether it is the popular product to be bought. For instance if the product is at eye level the customer is more likely to buy it as it is the first thing they see. Where as if the product is below eye level or above eye level people normally wouldn’t glance and see what else is on these shelves.
In addition I found out that price is usually less when a product is higher in fat than lower in fat. This is interesting as people are always going on about being healthy and yet it is more expensive to buy a product that is lower in fat.
I think that today has given me more knowledge on how important packaging is.
